GUADEC 2017: Ecosystem

Today is the thirday and last day of GUADEC 2017 as a conference. There will be more three day as a unconference.

On the previous two days, I learned how much a integrated ecosystem of software application can make the user experience more pleasured and, for the case of first time users, more friendly. Unfortunately, have the completely ecosystem is hard to implement and keep consistence between the softwares is even more difficult.

GUADEC 2017: Welcome

And today is the first day of GUADEC 2017.

Yesterday, the organisers hosted a great welcome drink full of amazing people.

GUADEC 2017: My Experience with Evolution

In a previous post, I talked about e-mail client that I used. At the current moment, I’m using Evolution, Gnome’s official “personal information management application that provides integrated mail, calendaring and address book functionality”, for more than half-year and there are some things that annoys me very much.

Before I start list all the things that make me unhappy when using Evolution, I need to say that I understand how complex a personal information management.

My E-mail (client) Journey

E-mail can be a very difficult thing to deal with but is the only federated wide-used system out there so we are stuck with it for now. In this post I will review how I try to domesticate that beast.

My first e-mail

I created my first e-mail account in 2004. It was a MSN Hotmail account since at that time everyone was using MSN Hotmail to chat. 2004 was also the year that Google announced Gmail but I wasn’t cool enough to receive a invitation. I didn’t used too much my MSN Hotmail account because at the time I didn’t have internet at home.

Nesse final de semana, eu assisti Carros 3. Para falar a verdade, eu ainda não assisti Carros ou Carros 2.

Carros é a sétima animação da Pixar. Ele foi dirigido pelo legendário John Lasseter e lançado em 2006. O filme original conta a história de Lightning McQueen, um carro de corrida que apenas se importa em ganhar o campeonato e durante o filme faz vários amigos.
